About the event
VAS & Clearing Blockages to Healing
An Immersive 5-Day Clinical Training in Tulum, Mexico
Learn to listen. Learn to prioritize. Treat what matters first.
**Early Bird Pricing until November 2, 2026**
Join Dave Maybee and Alice Patterson in Tulum, Mexico for an immersive small-group learning experience combining five days of focused, hands-on clinical training with the warmth, food, culture, and community that make Tulum such a special place.
Dave will lead the professional training in the Vascular Autonomic Signal (VAS), pre-assessment, and the identification and prioritization of Blockages to Healing, while Alice will help host the experience and make sure both students and accompanying partners feel welcomed and cared for throughout the week.
This training has been intentionally redesigned around a simple goal:
To help you become confident using the VAS to determine what the body is asking for — and what needs to be addressed first.
Rather than trying to fit every advanced technique into one course, we're slowing things down.
There will be more time to practice. More time to feel the VAS. More time to ask questions, work with one another, and integrate the clinical process until it begins to feel natural.
What You'll Learn
The Vascular Autonomic Signal
Develop greater confidence in finding, feeling, and interpreting the VAS through repeated hands-on practice and individual guidance.
We'll work with practitioner positioning, signal clarity, common challenges, and the subtleties that make the difference between simply detecting a pulse change and learning to trust what you are feeling.
Pre-Assessment
Before looking for points or choosing a treatment, we need to understand what the system is telling us.
You'll learn a structured pre-assessment process that helps establish the patient's current state and gives direction to the rest of the treatment.
Prioritizing Blockages to Healing
When treatment isn't progressing as expected, there is often a reason.
We'll explore the major Blockages to Healing and learn how to use the VAS to identify and prioritize what may be interfering with the body's ability to respond.
The emphasis is not on memorizing another protocol. It is on learning how to ask better questions, listen to the response, and determine what matters most.
Polarized Filter Testing
As a bonus clinical component, we'll work with the polarized filter to explore intolerances and sensitivities and to test which remedies or supports create the most coherent response for the individual patient.
Less Content. More Competence.
This course is intentionally different from previous versions of our VAS and Blockages training.
We have removed several advanced testing methods from the five-day curriculum so that we can spend more time developing the skills that everything else depends upon.
Our goal isn't for you to leave with the largest possible collection of techniques.
Our goal is for you to leave knowing how to use what you've learned.
Advanced testing for Hidden Dental issues, Hidden Psychological patterns, and vitamin deficiency/toxicity will be offered separately in a special live online follow-up training for participants who wish to continue.
Come to Learn. Bring Someone You Love.
Partners and plus-ones are warmly encouraged.
Alice and Dave have both spent considerable time living and working in Tulum and know the area well. Over the years they have developed relationships with local friends, guides, restaurants, and people who can help make the experience much more personal than simply arriving as a tourist.
While students are immersed in training during the day, Alice will also be available to help accompanying partners make the most of their time — whether that's exploring Tulum, heading to the beach, visiting a cenote, arranging an excursion, or simply enjoying the villa and taking the day slowly.
Partners can then rejoin the group for meals and some of our shared experiences.
The idea is simple: you shouldn't have to choose between professional development and sharing a beautiful trip with someone important to you.
A Home for the Week
Rather than meeting each morning in a hotel conference room and dispersing each evening, we'll be staying and learning together in a beautiful private villa in Tulum.
This creates space for something that is difficult to reproduce in a conventional course: conversation over meals, informal questions, evening discussions, practice between sessions, and the relationships that develop when a small group learns together.
And we'll be very well looked after.
Our meals will be prepared by Rosi and Benito, dear friends Alice and Dave worked with for nearly a year while running retreats in Tulum.
Their warmth became an important part of those experiences — as did Rosi's incredible traditional Mexican cooking.
They'll be joining us again to prepare our meals and help care for the space throughout the week.
Expect good food, shared tables, laughter, and the feeling of being welcomed into Mexico rather than simply attending a course there.
And Yes, We're Going Dancing.
On Tuesday evening, we'll head together to Salsa Night at Palma Central — one of our favourite Tulum experiences.
Students and partners are both welcome.
No salsa experience required.
It's simply a chance to step away from the classroom, have some fun together, listen to live music, dance if the mood strikes, and experience another side of Tulum.
Five Days of Training. One Day to Experience Mexico.
After five concentrated days of learning and practice, we'll change pace.
Our final day will be set aside to experience some of the beauty, culture, and history of the Yucatán together.
Alice and Dave have connections with local guides and know the area well, allowing us to create something more personal than a standard packaged tour.
The final-day excursion and that evening's accommodation are both included, so there is no need to pack up immediately after the course or arrange another hotel.
It's a chance to decompress, integrate what we've learned, and enjoy Mexico together before everyone begins the journey home.
From the Airport to the Airport
We want the logistics to be as simple as possible.
Airport pickup and return transportation are included.
Once you arrive at the Cancun Airport, we'll take care of getting you to the villa. At the end of the experience, we'll make sure you get back to the Cancun airport for your journey home.
Pick up time on February 28th will be at 5pm at the Cancun Airport.
Drop off will be at 9:30am on March 7th at the Cancun Airport.
If your flight times do not line up with this, you are welcome to arrange your own transportation to the villa and back to the airport. We can help with suggestions if you like.
